VOLUNTEERS & CAST … we couldn’t do it without you. We are so appreciative of your service to God and your dedication to The Living Word Outdoor Drama. We invite all of you reading this to come and join us in the 2020 season by being a part of our loving family. Tryouts do not take place as we accept all who are faithful Church members and have a desire to serve God.
The Living Word Outdoor Drama hosted Meet The Cast Night on Saturday, September 22 and guests who attended the show were able to go down on the set and meet several of our regular cast members. The Living Word would like to thank ALL of our volunteers for participating in the drama. It is not easy giving up 15 weekends of the summer and another 6-8 in the spring for practices, but they do it, and do it with loving hearts. It is amazing to see the love for the Lord that our volunteers have, including our cast, crew, technical team, gift shop employees, and concession stand employees. Despite six rainouts, the 2018 season has been an awesome season and God has been very good to us here. THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR GUESTS & VOLUNTEERS! God Bless!!!
The Cambridge/Guernsey County Visitors & Convention Bureau recently announced 11 local organizations are recipients of the 2018 Grant Assistance Program (GAP). In its fifth year, the program helps qualified non-profit area tourism events, organizations, and businesses to “fill in the gap.” The grant program assists qualified non-profit organizations with the advertising and promotion of activities which directly increase lodging occupancy in designated periods throughout the year, create positive image building publicity for the Cambridge/ Guernsey County area, and enhance the tourism environment in the area.
The Living Word Outdoor Drama received a pair of GAP Grants, one to support the printing and distribution of the organization’s 2018 brochures and the second to support Crucificed 2018, the 3rd annual Youth/Family Rally that will feature Decyfer Down, Random Hero and Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh on Saturday, August 11. This year’s other recipients are: Cambridge Lions Club, Cambridge Main Street, Dickens Victorian Village, Guernsey County Agricultural Society, Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation, Guernsey County Historical Society, National Cambridge Collectors, Inc., National Whitetail Deer Education Center, Byesville Gus Macker, and the Ohio Arts & Crafts Foundation.
The VCB has committed over $45,000 in their 2018 budget for the marketing of events and promotions which exhibit positive tourism potential.
The goals of the program are simple: Increase overnight stays in Cambridge/Guernsey County; Promote a positive image and increased visibility of the county’s attractions; Increase expenditures by visitors to Cambridge/Guernsey County; Provide programs and activities beneficial to drawing additional tourists from a 100+ mile radius; and Feature new or expanded events, projects or programs
Grants were made available from a minimum of $500 to a maximum of $5,000 and were contingent upon the amount of overnight stays the event, project or program generates.

Please help us spread the word about Crucifixed 2018. You can download the flier and e-mail it to all of your friends and any Church that you might think could be interested in attending the third annual event, featuring Decyfer Down, Random Hero, and Gold, Frankincense & Myrrh this year. Please, also print them out and hang them around your hometowns. We appreciate the support and hope to see you on Saturday, August 11.
