Reginald “Reg” Martin

Rev. Reginald “Reg” Martin is a member of the founding committee of The Living Word Outdoor Drama. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees and was the President for two years. Reg has played numerous roles through the years, but primarily as Annas, The High Priest. He also served as a past Director of the drama. Mr. Martin is a 1955 graduate of Edneyville (North Carolina) High School, a 1959 graduate of Berea (Kentucky) College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a 1963 graduate of Andover Newton (Massachusetts) Theological School where he earned a B.D. He has served at numerous Churches as a pastor, including First Baptist Church in Cambridge, Ohio (1973-1987) and First Baptist Church in Zanesville, Ohio (1997-2002 and 2005-08), where is as installed as Pastor Emeritus on September 14, 2008. Reg is now 80 and has officially been retired since 2002, but fills pulpits on Sunday when he is invited. In 1979, he was named The Daily Jeffersonian Man of the Year for community service. His wife is Gloria “Glo” Martin and they have two grown children – Lisa Ann Martin Bock and Craig Martin. Glo has also served at The Living Word for many years, including currently serving as a volunteer in the gift shop. In his spare time, Reg enjoys working in the yard at home, reading, watching occasional sporting events, and working out five days a week. He has also competed in several road races.
