John Harmon

Board of Trustees Member

John Harmon has been involved with The Living Word Outdoor Drama for over twenty years and currently is in his first term on the Board of Trustees. When he isn’t playing the role of Joseph of Arimathea, John is often working on a Building & Grounds project at The Living Word. He serves as a co-chair on the Building & Grounds Committee with Dave Milligan and Allen Minnich. John is a retired middle school math and computer skills teacher. He taught in the Rolling Hills School District and Cambridge City School District. He also has extensive experience in residential construction and remodeling. John served on the Board of the Guernsey County Habitat for Humanity for many years, having volunteered to help build the first twelve Habitat houses in the county. Mr. Harmon also has a background in civil defense education and safety training. The Upper Sandusky High School graduate grew up on a dairy farm in Wyandot County in northwestern Ohio. He ended up earning a degree in Political Science from Muskingum University with teacher certification in Comprehensive Social Studies/History grades 7-12, computers, and elementary certification grades 1-8. John has two children – Lindsay Harmon-Matthews and Julie. He sings in several area choral groups including Chordial Barbershop Chorus, Cambridge Singers, Muskingum University Choral Society, and the Coshocton Community Choirs. His hobbies include traveling, volunteer work, crossword puzzles, and studying/exploring architecture. He is a member of Christ’s Lutheran Church in Cambridge, Ohio.
