Delores “Dee” Carter
Delores “Dee” Carter has been active in The Living Word Outdoor Drama for twenty-nine years, playing the roles of The Samaritan Woman, Mother Mary, and other supporting roles. During each performance night, Dee gives a guided set tour from 7-7:20 p.m., detailing the history of The Living Word and the 400-foot panoramic set, and performs Mother Mary monologues in the community throughout the year. She currently serves on the Board of Directors and has been a past President. The monthly board minutes are often penned and sent out by Mrs. Carter. Dee is a graduate of Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences and Secondary Education. Her Master’s Degree is from Mary-Grove College in Detroit, MI. She taught for thirty-two years in the Rolling Hills School District and was Executive Director Heath A. Dawson’s seventh grade science teacher. Dee is a member of the New Concord United Methodist Church. Her husband is Richard Carter.
